SmilePro

A digital periodontal chart that draws the pocket as you type

Record gingival margin and probing depth site by site and SmilePro draws the pocket over each tooth, calculates the clinical attachment level and summarises the exam’s indices. Then compare the initial exam with the re-evaluation to see whether periodontal treatment is working.

Who it is for

For periodontists and dentists doing basic periodontal therapy who need to record 192 sites quickly, show the patient their progress and keep it in the clinical record.

How it works

  1. Mark missing teeth and implants

Cross out missing teeth with a click on their number and mark the implants before you start.

  2. Probe from the keyboard

Type margin and depth for each site. With auto-advance on, one digit is enough and the cursor jumps to the next site.

  3. Mark bleeding, plaque and suppuration

One click on each dot. Also record mobility, furcation, keratinised gingiva and, if you use it, the individual prognosis.

  4. Review the analysis

Plaque and bleeding indices, the share of sites at 4, 5 and 6 mm or more, and mean depth, recession and attachment level.

What it includes

  • Attachment level calculated

The margin is measured from the cemento-enamel junction (0, positive when coronal, negative with recession). Attachment level is never typed: it is calculated.

  • Comparison between exams

Pick another exam of the same patient and follow every site from one to the other: where each initial depth ended and whether bleeding changed.

  • Primary and mixed dentition

Add the primary arches (55–65 and 85–75) between the permanent ones, or use primary teeth only for a child.

  • Several charts per visit

Before and after a scaling session, for example. They all stay in the patient’s list as one series.

Frequently asked questions

How is the gingival margin recorded?

From the cemento-enamel junction: 0 when the margin is at it, the distance without sign when it is coronal (over the crown), and with a minus sign when there is recession. Intermediate readings are rounded up.

Is clinical attachment level calculated automatically?

Yes, from margin and depth. It can be negative when the margin sits over the crown and part of the pocket lies on enamel (a pseudo-pocket).

Can I compare the initial exam with the re-evaluation?

Yes. The analysis tab puts two exams of the same patient side by side and follows every site from one to the other.

Do I need a paid plan to use it?

No. The periodontal chart is part of the clinical history, which is included in the Free plan.

  • Digital odontogram

Record diagnoses and procedures by surface, tooth, arch or whole mouth with FDI notation, and turn them into a budget.

  • Patients and clinical records

Patient files, the full clinical history on one page, prescriptions, orders and certificates with signature, and encrypted clinical text.

  • Treatment plans and budgets

The plan lives on the odontogram across visits; the budget comes out of it with your brand, and payments are recorded in full or in instalments.
